We feel it’s our obligation to try and make a difference for the (very) poor farmers in the Andes Mountains. Same as centuries ago, quinoa is one of the very few crops they can grow to sustain themselves since not much else grows at such high altitudes. By promoting Quinoa we hope to increase demand for it, and as such enhance the lives of the Andean natives. Most importantly, we only source our organic Quinoa from local cooperatives that actively support their farmers with tools, education and by paying them a fair price for their crops. We visit them regularly to make sure they comply. Additionally we have started our own project in Argentina to try and make a difference for the (equally) poor farmers in the province of Salta.
We firmly believe in the old saying: “don’t try to help a man by giving him a fish. Teach him how to catch them and he will never go hungry again.” |
Amazing nutritional values. Called a ‘Super Grain’, Quinoa is highly nutritious and can supply us with all of the body's requirements: carbohydrates, fats (the good ones!), protein, vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
